Born out of wedlock - took his mothers maiden name.Lee was baptized 13 jun
1897 in Sugar Creek,Jackson,Tennessee by Elder Hickenlooper. Lee was sealed to
his wife Emma in the Salt Lake Temple on 31 May 1939. Emma had passed away the
previous year, so her work was done by proxy. Lee was a Baptist Preacher when
the missionaries came to Plesant Hill School as that was where they went to
church to worship God. He took the missionaries home with him and thought to
show them the errors of their way but they showed him the error of his way. He
was Superintendent of their Sunday School at the time. So he studied the gospel
of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints for about 6 months and he
was ready to be baptised into the church. But of course they kicked him out of
their Sunday School. And their Sunday School went dead . So sometime later they
got him to head their organization again. But they had a preacher that came
along an told them that this would never do so they kicked him out again. The
Sunday School went dead again. Sometime later they ask him to lead them again
and he said he would under one condition. And that was that they would use
Mormon Literature and under the plan of our Church ; but they said ,No.
