28. Lee Cester Phillips

Born out of wedlock - took his mothers maiden name.Lee was baptized 13 jun

1897 in Sugar Creek,Jackson,Tennessee by Elder Hickenlooper. Lee was sealed to

his wife Emma in the Salt Lake Temple on 31 May 1939. Emma had passed away the

previous year, so her work was done by proxy. Lee was a Baptist Preacher when

the missionaries came to Plesant Hill School as that was where they went to

church to worship God. He took the missionaries home with him and thought to

show them the errors of their way but they showed him the error of his way. He

was Superintendent of their Sunday School at the time. So he studied the gospel

of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints for about 6 months and he

was ready to be baptised into the church. But of course they kicked him out of

their Sunday School. And their Sunday School went dead . So sometime later they

got him to head their organization again. But they had a preacher that came

along an told them that this would never do so they kicked him out again. The

Sunday School went dead again. Sometime later they ask him to lead them again

and he said he would under one condition. And that was that they would use

Mormon Literature and under the plan of our Church ; but they said ,No.

Well,Lee was born and raised in Overton Co.,Tennessee and married there and

they had two children born there. Then they moved to Clay Co.,Tennessee and had

5 children and later moved to Jackson Co. and had 5 more children


29. Emma Morgan

Emma was baptized 13 June 1897 , In Sugarcreek, Tennesse. She had been bed

ridden for many years but after being baptised she was healed .
