,John Kirby of Middletown. In 1755 or earlier he moved to Chesterfield,his
grandfather Nathaniel had been granted 600 acres of land in 1736. The town was
settled in 1760.Nathaniel was in the Revolutionary War and applied for a
pension on 3 Aug 1832. He was a boston Tea Party "Indian".The book "Families of
Chesterfield" states Nathaniel and his family moved from Chesterfield; first
Wethersfield, Conn., and later moved to Canandaigua, New York in about 1802 and
to Ohio in 1806 in 1816 Nathaniel and wife rebecca moved to Wayne Towwnship in
Ashtabula Co. Ohio . He was known most of his adult life as Deacon Nathaniel
